Sunshine and Summertime :)

After being gone for over a month straight on every weekend...we decided to stick around Seattle and explore and enjoy where we live. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. The weather was beautiful...and on a sunny day...Seattle is breath taking. Between the water and the mountains and green trees, it is absolutely gorgeous.
We went out to dinner and a movie downtown on Friday night. "What Happens In Vegas" with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz is absolutely hilarious and we recommend it! Then on Saturday we spent the morning going for a run, cleaning the house, and then out to run errands. We went and bought a little "Smokey Joe" barbeque for our patio so we can grill things now. We then went for a walk down to Lake Union and walked around the city a little bit...it was a lot of fun. Then walked to the grocery stuff to get stuff for dinner.
We made bacon cheeseburgers on our grill and they were delicious! There is nothing better than food fresh off the grill.
On Sunday we went to church, took naps and then went to the zoo. Yes, we went to the Woodland Park Zoo (I will post pictures later). It was so fun! We went with our friends Bryan and Dani Dean. We went and had a wonderful Mexican dinner and then relaxed for the evening.
It was a great way to spend our weekend in Seattle!

Trip home :) Good Old G.B.

After about 5 months from the wedding and moving to Seattle I was able to go home to Granite Bay to visit my family. It was a trip I had been looking forward to for a long time and I loved every minute of it. The weather was perfect...about 80-85 degrees and SUNNY (something Seattle doesn't have much of). We just hung out, the boys golfed, my mom and I got a pedicure, we ate good food and played games and just enjoyed each others company. I could have stayed there forever! It was a great weekend and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. We missed you Alex :( but study hard and finish out the year strong!

My sister and I...
Nick and I in front of my parent's house... (I'm so white I am practically glowing since I haven't seen the sun in a while :)
Savannah girl (my parents beloved dog that I miss sooo much...i might steal her and bring her to Seattle to live with us for a while!)
Nick and Savannah bonding...I think it might be time for us to get a dog!

Randoms

These are just a few pictures from just some random things we have done over the last month...

I got sick of having the same haircut for the last 10 years...so I chopped my hair off! I like having a change and am still learning how to style it. Some days I miss having long hair...but it is a nice change for now.

Nick golfing at Moses Pointe. He loves to golf (understatement of the year :). I can't keep him off the course!

We had the chance to go down to Southern California to visit our amazing friends from college. After a very interesting flight (I got stuck next to quite a character on our way down there!) we were greeted by Derek, JD and Brad and then went back to the hotel. We just hung out and went to bed.
Saturday morning my very best friends Erin and Sarah came to pick me up and we went hiking in Laguna. We were so excited to be reunited again we could barely get our words out fast enough to catch up on life. We went for a wonderful hike, ate breakfast at a little cafe in Newport Beach and then met up with everyone later.
We went to dinner with a group of about 20 friends and family at Lucille's BBQ (the buttermilk biscuits and apple butter are to die for!) and then went back to the hotel and just hung out with everybody. It was just like being in college again and was so fun to be surrounded by our amazing friends.
Sunday we went to Rock Harbor church in Costa Mesa...what a great church! And then had some lunch and went to South Coast Plaza to do some shopping and kill time before we flew out.
It was a quick weekend but so much fun. It was tough to get back on the plane. But we feel so blessed to have made such amazing friendships in college and think we have the best friends ever!

The view from our hike...(it was a little cloudy at first but then it cleared up :)

Weekend Visitors :)

About a month ago my mom and sister came to see me :) I was really homesick and wanted some family in town so my mom and sister flew up to spend the weekend with me. We went all around Seattle and explored. On Friday night we went to a wine bar and restaurant in downtown Seattle called Purple....good wine and good food! Then Saturday morning we went to the Market and got some beautiful flowers (amazingly beautiful bouquets of flowers for only $5!...they are my favorite discovery in Seattle).
That afternoon Michele, Jay Fordice and their adorable son Carter drove up from Portland to spend the day with us. It was so great to spend time with them and see some more familiar faces. We went to McCormick and Schmicks on Lake Union for dinner. Ate the most amazing dinner of my life....yummmmm!
Sunday we enjoyed a great sermon at church, then Chevy's Mexican Restaurant (my favorite of all time) for lunch, and then off to the airport they went. It was a quick weekend but a lot of fun :)

They sell lamb tongue at the market...siiiiick! Who really eats that?!?!
