Last night was Parker's first night sleeping in his crib. He has been sleeping in a pack-n-play in our room since he was born and I finally decided it was time to move him into his room. I had a mild panic attack (kidding) but was actually really sad to put him in his own room. I liked the security of having him in our room and being able to look over and see his adorable sleeping self...but decided it was time for him to start sleeping in his crib :( He loved sleeping in his crib (i'm sure it is much more comfortable!) and slept for two 5 hour increments in the night...let me tell you...I was feeling well rested this morning :) So I survived the separation and Parker is now a big boy sleeping in his own room!

.one month.
Parker was officially 1 month old on the 20th of August. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone!!! I am obsessed with this little guy...I seriously cannot get enough. I just stare at his little hands and feet, his beautiful eyes and cannot believe that he is mine!! It is the absolute most amazing thing I have ever experienced. Here is some info on Parker at 1 month:
-loves tummy time and takes naps on his tummy
-sleeps in his crib at night
-sleeping about 5 straight hours at a time during the night
-smiles at mommy and daddy
-loves to cuddle up on your chest
-can track objects with his eyes
-is becoming more aware of his surroundings
-is a little cuddler (which mommy LOVES)
-grown out of his newborn clothes
-growing big and strong!
I love watching him grow and learn. I cannot wait to have a bunch of little Dietzen babies running around :)
.endless summer.
Whew! It's been a while since I have updated the blog. Between having a newborn, friends and family come visit, and just the daily tasks of life- I haven't found much free time to update the blog. Oops! This summer has flown by ever since Parker arrived and it has been an absolute blast!! Here is a little update on the Dietzen household...
Parker:
-growing like crazy and eating like it's going out of style
-started to smile
-can move his head from side to side while on his tummy
-loves tummy time
-loves to fall asleep on Daddy's chest
-sleeping an average of 5-7 hours straight during the night
-is almost grown out of his newborn clothes
-doesn't really like the carseat but loves the car rides
-has blue eyes (but they can still change)

-Mimi & Papa Berceau
-Grandma & Grandpa Dietzen
-Dietzen Family (Derek, Linds, Hannah, JD, Angela & Mason)

**our house has become somewhat of a hotel the past few months. We have had visitors from out of town almost every single week! But it has been awesome!!

Life has been busy but so much fun. I LOVE staying home with Parker and taking care of the household and enjoying our company. I still have a month and a half left of maternity leave and am planning on thoroughly enjoying it!
Here are a few pictures of our growing boy...
.daily happenings.
Parker is 3 weeks old today and we have settled into a nice little routine. He is sleeping and eating great and has been a dream baby so far! He had a gassy tummy yesterday and it was so sad to see him so uncomfortable and not feeling well. I wanted to just make him feel better but there wasn't a whole lot I could do :( It really is true...you hurt when your children hurt! This past weekend we went over to Spokane for Grandpa Scott's 50th birthday. They had invited some friends over and we just hung out at the Dietzen's house. The boys played lots of golf and the girls layed out at the pool and did some shopping and Grandma and Grandpa Dietzen got to spend lots of time with Parker :) Parker did GREAT in the car and I am hoping that he stays a good traveler since we take so many trips!
This week I have been trying to settle back into being home, doing laundry, cleaning the house and getting ready for our friends Brad and Shannon and their daughter Sawyer to come visit. It will be so fun to have them around and to just tour around Seattle and hang out :)
I am getting sad and nervous to go back to work and send Parker to daycare. In a perfect world, I would be able to stay home, but unfortunately for the next few years I am going to have to work. I still have until the middle of October before I have to go back, but time has already gone by so fast that I know it will be here before I know it. I am trying to mentally prepare myself for sending Parker to daycare, but also enjoy my time off with him and really just be present with him. I know that God has a plan and that Parker will be fine, I just am already a little stressed about it but want to make sure I don't focus on that too much!! I could definitely use major prayers on how to deal with going back to work!

.baby blabber.
Parker has this little baby blabber that he makes and I just think it is the sweetest noise ever. The other night Nick and Parker were talking back and forth. So we captured a few minutes of the talking on Nick's iphone so the quality isn't great but it still is so cute!
.set backs.
Life with Parker man has been amazing so far. I never thought I could love my husband and baby boy the way I do. I feel so lucky and so blessed. I really feel like this is what I was made to do...to be the best wife I can to my husband and the best mom I can be to my son and future children. I finally feel like I am at a place where I feel like I am living my purpose.
However, the past week has been kind of a tough one and I am trying to trust that God's plan is bigger than what I could imagine and that He knows what the future holds. There has been some very disappointing things that have happened and I am trying my hardest to rise above them gracefully. The hardest part for me is not what happened (although I was extremely disappointed that it didn't work out) but the way it was handled was most discouraging to me. When people aren't open and honest from the beginning, it can make things more hurtful and difficult than necessary. I am trying to forgive the way it was handled and realize that we are all human and make mistakes, but I am still trying to process the way everything happened and rise above. I know God will never give us more than we can handle, and I am trying to find out what He has planned for our family and what is best for us with Parker here now. But I am excited to see how God provides and what that looks like!
This weekend we are headed over to Spokane for Nick's dad's 50th birthday surprise. We will be heading over on Thursday night and I am excited to be around family again. I am beginning to realize more and more that family is really what is important and are the people who are always there for you. Nick's sister Hannah is over here staying with me for the week and helping me with Parker. It has been great to have her around! Today we are going to go paint pottery and hang out! Looking forward to it :)
