.weekends.

Weekends are wonderful! Since we have had such a beautiful summer, I feel like we have been able to really enjoy our weekends and do a lot of really fun things. This weekend was jam packed and was so much fun.

On Friday night I met up with my girlfriends Meghan and Jenny (we all went to church together in CA and all ended up in Seattle!) for dinner and a night out in Seattle. We made homemade pizza and salad for dinner and then headed out to Ballard to go to some restaurants and bars. Since Nick and I aren't nighlife connoisseurs I wasn't sure where to take them out but we ended up finding a few fun places along the way. Sometimes it is so nice to just go out with girlfriends and talk and have fun.

On Saturday I slept in :) I love the feeling of knowing that you have nothing to wake up for on Saturday morning and can have the freedom to relax! Nick went to the office for a few hours while I was sleeping (such a hard working husband!) and then we headed up to TPC Snoqualmie Ridge to watch the Boeing Classic Senior PGA Tournament. We walked the back 9 and then watched a lot of the golfers come into 18. It was really fun and it is such a beautiful golf course tucked into the base of the Cascade mountains. Seriously, beautiful!

After that we headed down to Seattle for a Mariner's game. We met up with a friend Therese and her husband Adam and watch the Mariner's beat the Kansas City Royals. It was a fun game and there were so many homeruns! The game went by really quickly because Therese and I were chatting away...I think baseball games are more fun with a friend to talk to ;)

Then Sunday we went to church and then stopped by the new home to see the progress. It is coming along so fast and I cannot wait to move it! They have the drywall and the walls painted and are starting on the millwork. Only a month till move in!! We met some of our neighbors too which was great. They all seemed really nice so I am looking forward to having a quiet neighborhood with nice neighbors.

The rest of the afternoon we just relaxed, Nick went golfing and I went to the gym and then made some fun things for around the house. I will post about my creative projects later.

This upcoming weekend we are headed to Spokane for a wedding and to spend Labor Day with the Dietzen's. Looking forward to it!

.thanks for the week.

.today.

I am currently reading a book called "Cold Tangerines" by Shauna Niequist. My roomie from college Erin, recommended this book to me and I LOVE IT! It is a book about celebrating the extraordinary nature of everyday life. It really just helps you to realize how beautiful life is each and every day. It has helped me gain a healthy and positive outlook on the life I have been blessed with.

Here is a quote that I love from the first chapter called "Waiting":

"Today is your big moment. Moments, really. The life you've been waiting for is happening all around you. The scene unfolding right outside your window is worth more than the most beautiful painting, and the crackers and peanut butter that you're having for lunch on the coffee table are as profound, in their own way, as the Last Supper. This is it. This is life in all its glory, swirling and unfolding around us, disguised as pedantic, pedestrian non-events. But pull off the mask and you will find your life, waiting to be made, chosen, woven, crafted.
Your life, right now, today, is exploding with energy and power and detail and dimension, better than the best movie you have ever seen. You and your family and your friends and your house and your dinner table and your garage have all the makings of a life of epic proportions, a story for the ages. Because they all are. Every life is.
You have stories worth telling, memories worth remembering, dreams worth working toward, a body worth feeding, a soul worth tending, and beyond that, the God of the universe dwells within you, the true culmination of super and natural.
You are more than dust and bones.
You are the spirit and power and image of God.
And you have been given Today."

.mini golf.

Last night Nick and I were hanging out at home looking outside at the gorgeous weather and decided that we had to go spend sometime outside. We spontaneously decided to go mini golfing. It was so much fun!! We went to a really nice mini golf place that is attached to an actual golf course. It was the perfect temperature outside and we had a great time spending time together. Nick is going out of town this weekend to go to a friend's wedding in Idaho so it was great to be able to have some quality time together last night.

Oh and by the way...I won :) This might be the first time ever I have beat Nick at anything...so I had to post it as proof! :)

.wedding slideshow.

I was just going through old emails and found the link to our wedding video slideshow...so I thought I would share. It makes me smile just looking through it. I sometimes have to pinch myself to realize that this is my life....how did I get so lucky?!? I am so blessed. Enjoy the slideshow :)

.excuse me mr. favre.

This blog is going to be a little bit of a rant so bear with me for a second...

REALLY?!?! Brett Favre? Again?!?!

I am baffled by Brett Favre's decision to un-retire again and now go play for the Packer's arch rival...the Vikings...ugh!

I understand that Brett Favre is a legend and there is no mistaking his talent and success...but come on...make a decision and stick with it. If he wasn't going to retire, then why did he say that he was?

I am just over him. He used to be my hero and I respected him as both a player and a person....now not so much. What happened to sticking to your word?

Yuk....all I have to say is that I am over Brett Favre.

Go Pack Go!!! I am rooting hard for Aaron Rodgers, especially when facing the washed up #4 quarterback on the Vikings line up :)

.work friends.

Here are a few pictures of some of the awesome people I work with. Work is fun everyday because of them!! We are ridiculous, innapropriate, and sarcastic which makes it hilarious all the time.

We had a client from NFL come to visit, so everyone in the company dressed in NFL gear and jerseys. None of us girls had any NFL items so we borrowed jersey's from someone in the company. They turned out to be more like dresses, but we rocked them anyways :)

Here is a picture of Sarah, Kristin, Therese and I at our company party at Red Hook. We had an absolute BLAST that night and tore up the dance floor. These girls are so much fuN!

Therese and I were twins at our national sales meeting...we didn't even know we matched until everyone started saying it. So we took a picture :)

.business.

So I am starting a new business along with my photography endeavors. It is going to be an invitation and announcement business. If you would like a birthday invitation, wedding invitation, birth announcement, etc. I can design one especially for YOU! As I get this off the ground, I will only be charging what the cost is to produce the cards.

If you have any ideas or questions, feel free to email me at annaelyse@gmail.com. Stay tuned for more information!!!

.i love you man.

Tonight is a movie night!! Last night I surprised Nick with the movie "I Love You, Man" because he has been wanting to see it since it was in theatres but we never got around to it. So I saw it in Target yesterday and had to make this purchase :)

We have heard nothing but good things about this movie and I am looking forward to curling up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and my man watching this movie! I will update you on our review of the movie, but with Nick and my sarcastic humor, I think this will be a hit!

.truth.

"...even though I glimpse God's holiness, I am still dumb enough to forget that life is ALL about God and not about me AT all." -Francis Chan, Crazy Love

.it's official.

Nick and I have found a home!! We signed the offer papers last Wednesday and will close on September 30th. We feel so lucky and blessed that we are able to purchase this townhome. God really has blessed us way more than we deserve and we cannot wait to see what else He has in store for us. For now we are just enjoying the process of picking out the floors, countertops, paint colors, etc.
Yeah for our first home at 24 years old :) Cannot wait to decorate make it our home!

.mini vaca.

I am so excited about this week I can barely stand it. Starting tomorrow we have our National Sales meeting for work. I like NSM because all the people who work outside the corporate office come in and we all get to attend the meetings and discuss where we are headed and what we are trying to accomplish. It is different than the everyday work, so it's nice to have some change.
Then on Thursday night we are headed to Spokane to see Brad and Shannon and meet baby Sawyer. I cannot wait to get to hang out with all the family and to be with Brad, Shannon and the little baby girl :) It sounds like we have a pretty full schedule for the few days we are there. Its so fun to be around family and friends and we are so lucky to have been blessed with both amazing friends and family.
Here is a little glimpse of Sawyer's newborn pictures....
