What is Joubert Syndrome?

.my little avocado.

I have had this little miracle growing inside of my now for what will be 4 months on Friday and I realized that I haven't shared anything about my little baby. My pregnancy so far has been great...I was sick the first few months, but it was nothing unbearable. I was preparing for the worst and it was much better than I thought it was going to be. I have been sleeping really great, which is awesome because it has completely cured me of my insomnia :) Thanks little critter! Almost all of the sickness is gone now and a lot of my energy has returned so I feel totally normal. I am still wearing my regular clothes and haven't really started to show much, so sometimes I wonder if anything is really in there....but then I get to hear the heartbeat when I go to the doctor and it just amazes me. God really is so creative with this whole pregnancy thing! Nick and I are loving talking, dreaming, and thinking about our little baby. I cannot wait to meet him/her and just hug and love the little miracle. I am so excited for July! When I took the test and found out it was positive, the first thought that popped in my head was "I'm having a little girl"; which is totally opposite of what I had always thought I wanted. But they say a mothers intuition is always right, so we will see if we are having a girl. We find out on March 4th...so we will keep you posted. I feel really blessed by all of the friends and family who have shared in our excitement and are excited to be a part of our babies life. This little critter is already loved so much!!! We have a little less than 6 months to prepare for baby and slowly but surely we are starting to decide on things and accumulate. We bought a stroller, the Quinny Buzz 3 which I am really excited about and then we are getting the Maxi Cosi Car seat to snap in! Baby stuff is so high tech sometimes.

All in all, we feel blessed and humbled that God has given us this little miracle to raise. I cannot wait to embark on the journey of parenthood and know that with it will bring trials and obstacles of many kinds, but also a joy and understanding that we would have never known otherwise. So keep growing strong my little Avocado...keep growing healthy and big and strong! We cannot wait to meet you!!

.ramblings.

The past few weeks have been absolutely crazy, and I am very much looking forward to a normal week at home and in the office. Two weeks ago I was in Vegas for a tradeshow for work for a few days (which was fun, but exhausting for this pregnant lady :) and then this past week we had our National Sales Meetings in Seattle and were out of the office for 3 long days. I always love NSM but it is always so draining once it is finished! Nick left last night for a week long business trip so I am flying solo this week. I actually have a lot to get done and am looking forward to some time to catch up on things, but I hate it when he is gone. I really just dont like being alone, especially at night. But it really makes me grow a lot and be independent, so in a way it is good for me. It just makes me very thankful when he is around. Tonight is the Bachelor and I am excited to watch, and although the girls are ridiculous, it is fun to watch. Wednesday I am meeting a friend for happy hour in Bellevue and then Thursday night I have Bible Study with some girls. It should be a fun week and the sun is shining today, so that makes me smile. Nothing better than a sunny day up here in Seattle :)

.big news.

Aaaannnnndddd.....
Yes it's true....we are expecting a baby! Baby Dietzen will be joining us on July 16, 2010 and we couldn't be more thrilled. I am 14 weeks and a few days along and everything is going great. We are so thankful for this miracle inside of me and feel so lucky that God blessed us with this baby. Cannot wait to meet our little critter!!!

.go pack go.

Just a little shout out to my team...GO PACK GO!! We are in playoffs now...so lets beat the Cardinals again today and keep this thing going :)

.spa day.

During the week between Christmas and New Years, the Dietzen girls were treated to a day at the Coeur d'Alene spa. I mean, what girls doesn't love going to the spa for hours and getting pampered right?!? We woke up to a beautiful wintery wonderful that morning and headed over to Coeur d'Alene for our day of relaxation. When we got there, we checked in, got into our cozy robes and sat down for lunch. We ate lunch overlooking the lake. Because there was snow all around, it made it that much more beautiful! After lunch, we headed off to our massages or facials. After that it was down for pedicures, and then we went to the steam room and sauna for a while. We finally showered and got ready and went to dinner. By the time we were at dinner, all of us were about ready to fall asleep because we were so relaxed :) So once we got home, we turned on Friday Night Lights (the t.v. show...don't worry...I am obsessed now after we watched 2 seasons over break) and all headed to bed pretty early. It was amazing to be pampered the way we were....I could definitley get used to more days like that :)

.go zags.

Over Christmas break, Nick's parents got all the "kids" tickets to the Gonzaga game (Hannah couldn't go because of basketball). When we got to the game and picked up our tickets at will call, we couldn't believe our seats. They were 2nd row, center court! It was awesome!! It was fun to watch that level of play in college and they won by about 30 points. We had a blast all being together and watching the game!

Go Zags!!

.top chef.

A few weeks ago as a team building event for work, they took all of the sales coordinators to downtown Seattle and we has a cook off...top chef style. We were divided into 3 teams and given a "special ingredient". Our group got pork tenderloin as our ingredient, so we tailored out meal around our meat. There were a bunch of tables with all kinds of ingredients on it and we got to use our creativity as well as the knowledge of our chef to come up with a main dish, two sides and a dessert. We decided on making a pork tenderloin with sauteed shallots in a balsalmic vinegar reduction sauce, baked asparagus with sea salt and pepper, red potatoes with rosemary and bacon, and for dessert we made a pear and apple crisp with homemade whipped cream. It all turned out amazing!! We then had judges try our meals and then we had a big buffet that we got to eat and try out everyone's meals. It was such a fun team building event. I cannot wait to go again :)
